Yeah...but not much I can do about a university-issued laptop. It's actually a pretty good computer, and I was able to disable Copilot...I just want this damn icon off. Wonder if I can do a registry edit.

Sigh. Changing word processors mid manuscripts is going to be...not great. But maybe it's going to be my only option. Or I could just buy an older version of MS Word, I guess.

Actually downloading that full install now. I haven't switched word processing programs since I switched from Word Perfect like thirty years ago, but I'm not going to put up with that icon. I wish there was a way just to remove it.
