Fantastic hammer beam ceiling in the Great Hall of Stirling Castle. The reconstruction used 350 oaks felled in Perthshire, though archaeologists think the original used Scandinavian sourced material, common in the 16th century. Global timber trade as old as time!

Lots of recreation and enjoyment of nature happening in Karua forest, Nairobi. Extensive programme of removing exotics and replacing them with native trees. Beautiful green lungs of city.

The news continues to be awful...but here's a picture of a beautiful gentle dog who's sharing our home at the moment - sitting on old parquet floor (possibly Canadian pitch pine)

Snowdrops at St Botolph, Swyncombe were fabulous, and these tucked under a hedge nearby were so beautiful!

The Climate Change Resource Center (CCRC) website is down.. Is this DOHGE- related, or a preexisting issue? CCRC is a web-based, national platform that connects land managers and decision makers with useable science to address climate change in natural resources planning and management.

What a treat!
Yaffle in the garden
Pecking in the snowy grass
For defrosted ants
What a treat!

The Big Snow of 82
is on tv,
A small snow of 25
tries to settle
After the 4th warmest year.
So let's not "drill baby drill".

Little wooden puppet boy
Faces dangers, knaves and whales
Little faces wrapt in the dark
Watch Pinocchio come to life
Eat an ice cream
Yell “Behind you!”
And start a lifelong love of theatre.

Meeting old friends to groan, sweat and laugh,
Trying to lift weights and hold poses,
While listening to Elton,
Hot Chocolate or Abba
Counting down 10, 9, 8…
…3, 2, 1…Rest.Repeat.
Each 10 seconds adding years to our lives.
So we think.
We believe in miracles.

Woods dripping with rain,
The brook in full spate.
Walkers encased in bright covers
And wet dogs sniffing the dead leaves.
