The Indian state of Rajasthan produces more solar than any other. It has rejected a 3.2 GW coal power plant, because the bids to build it were more expensive than bundling renewables with batteries.

You some folk pooh-pooh tackling causes of #ClimateChange and say future society will just learn to adapt and become more resilient? Well the #EU is preparing to be that future society and is consulting on the changes needed for climate resilience and risk management.

I was telling one of my friends in the local Climate Hub about when I made a snowman model one Christmas as a child, based on what they'd showed us on Blue Peter. She's only gone and found the instructions from December 1982 online! www.bbc.com/cult/classic...

Interesting to read in my NHS volunteer newsletter that there are moves afoot to open a new #RepairCafe in Shipston-on-Stour, with the initiative being lead by Stour Health & Wellbeing Partnership and the South Warwickshire University NHS foundation, with support from @stratforddc.bsky.social .

Summer is officially over at my #allotment as the greenhouse tomatoes succumbed to the recent cold and have gone on the compost heap. Winter is coming... ❄️🌨️☃️

Looks like the good citizens of Tiddington have also been preparing for #Christmas, with their tree up on the little green near the village shops and pub.

Usually I grumble about people and shops doing #Christmas before December, but I made use of the nice weather today to put the railway Christmas banners at both the town station and Parkway out a day early. #CommunityRail #GrumpyElf

I just noticed that there's a hint of "Imperial Death Star interior lighting" about this Chiltern Railways train I'm on.

A fairly quiet #RepairCafe today but we still nearly broke even with donations from people happy with the fixes that were made. Not surprised numbers were a bit down considering how foul the weather was earlier today. Of course it's blue sky and sunshine now we've packed up. D'oh! 🪛🛠️🔩🔧🧰✂️⚒️🌧️☔

The lovely & talented Emma from Charnwood Eco Hub has repurposed old bicycle inner tubes to make these superb "feather" earrings. Never seen that done before and they look fantastic. #reuse #cycling #gift

Something tells me that even though it's just a couple of minutes walk round the corner from my flat to the venue for today's #RepairCafe, I'm going to get very wet going there in a few minutes. 🌧️

A toolkit, a new battery, a part they desperately need, or fixing up something they love is more thoughtful than anything destined for the clutter drawer. Repair is sustainable, personal, and way more fun than a last-minute impulse buy. Check out our holiday sale now!

Probably need extra time to replace the "CAMERON BARRACKS" ironwork sign with the more traditional "ARBEIT MACHT FREI"...

Love my hydrangeas. Rooted a couple of cuttings a few yrs back and they flower pale pink and lilac, while the original plants at the back are mostly blue.

Would love a big space with swathes of different types as shown tonight. #gardenersworld

Even cheekier is to bury the pot under the stem you want to root. Then less disturbance when you cut the stem and lift the pot out. #GardenersWorld

Used to have lovely white honesty. It germinates freely and over winter the slugs eat it all, along with any foxgloves lol #gardenersworld

Ooooh, Frances's string tying and snapping technique on #GarrdenersWorld looks great. I wonder many times I'll tie my hands together practising it? 🤔🤣🤣
