In addition to being a ray of sunshine, Girlfriend is also an incredible baker. These taste like Cinnabon. Somehow they’re still warm even though she brought them four hours ago.

Made a giant bowl of pasta salad for a get together at our house last night. 20+ guests barely put a dent in it. None of the people I live with eat it. So, I’m just eating out of the big bowl whenever the urge strikes.

Bought a fiddle leaf fig at Costco. I knew it was big, but I didn’t realize it was this big. We have 8ft ceilings. I got it into and out of the cart and my car by myself. Fully expecting it to be a naked trunk by Christmas but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

Last week at this time I was hiking this waterfall in Iceland. Among the many ways it was incredible, is that I was not responsible for weeds or vegetables while we were there.

When your garden is already a bit overgrown and then you’re out of town/busy for nearly two weeks while it’s hot and rainy you come back to something that looks like this. 😬

I weeded about a 1/16 of this and gave up because it’s too hot/humid. Will try to tackle more tonight.

Ran to my farmer husband and said “look what I made!” He was appropriately proud and amused.

There was an accident at the intersection by our house. One of the cars ran into and damaged an electrical pole. Fortunately there was no ambulance so I don’t think anyone was seriously injured.

Um, do we have the same dog? (This was several years ago. Fritz’s face has a lot more gray in it these days.)

I went outside to read a book for a little while this morning before it got hot. Then I remembered the plants I bought last weekend that I hadn’t planted yet. So…I did that instead of leisurely reading. Need to clean up weeds and re-mulch, but I’m happy with how it turned out.

In a rare series of events, the kids are playing on adjoining fields tonight. They both got a hit at almost exactly the same time! Then L1 had a chance to encourage L2 playing center. ❤️

I sincerely can’t believe we’re doing this again.

I can’t pick just one National Parks pic to quote post, so here are four. Redwoods. Haleakala. Theodore Roosevelt. Great Smoky Mountains.

Just realized my sweater probably qualifies as a protest shirt now.

I use an old school paper address book. I’ve had it for about 20 years. I took a closer look than usual at it tonight and noticed the pages have a spot for a pager number. 👵🏻

It was inside! Our polling place doubles as the township garage for road maintenance equipment.

If you need me I’ll just be quietly crying to myself. Some VP.

Yes. While not exactly the same level, I think Jim Gaffigan could pull it off. He already has the Midwest dad part down. Not sure if he can do the yelling though.

My actual dad in the family group chat. 😂

At the small town car wash. How many people have impatiently driven into the door for a sign to be needed?!

He had the Russ to his Clark Griswold out untangling and putting lights up this morning. The display is out and ready to go for tonight!
