Itter's Terrace Calvert from the south shortly before demolition in 1974. I believe the brickworks was known as Itter's Brickworks but was later taken over by London Brick Company. It had 12 chimneys when I first encountered it in Easter 1974 but 2 were demolished soon after. It is now housing.

The track linking Calvert Brickworks to the Great Central main line from the east in 1974. You won't see worse track laying.

Calvert from the west. The navvy mission hut is on the left and Werner Terrace is on the right. At the top Brackley Lane where a couple of semis have succumbed to HS2.

Navvy mission parade during the construction of the line. The location was identified to me by Mrs Hobbs of Great Pond Farm. Mrs Hobbs had been let out of school to witness the 1st passenger train go through on 9th March 1899. The shot was taken on their drive. The farm still had the navvies' stable

Calvert Station Masters House from the south west 8th August 1974. Recently demolished to make way for HS2. Finmere's has suffered the same fate.

Calvert North Junction Signal Box on 10th September 1971 by Brian W Leslie, The box was short lived as the point motors made redundant at Quainton Road Junction were transferred here and worked from Calvert Station signal box.

Calvert Signal Box from the South East. soon after opening SWA Newton. Locals identified the signalman to me as "Darkie" Stevens. This later controlled Calvert North Junction too. At the end it managed the southern end of a 19 mile block section to Culworth Junction.
