“A U.S. citizen!” And now he’s missing.

Adrian Martinez tried to defend a man ICE was harassing. Video shows six agents swarming him. He struggles but doesn’t lay hands on them. They take him to the ground & shove him into a CBP vehicle.

Abuse of power. Keep recording. Don’t stop.

Best iced coffee recipe: 2 shots espresso, add a couple ozs of cold water and a generous squirt of chicory syrup. Shake in a tumbler filled with ice until it's foamy and serve over more ice.

My daughter is home sick and I made her watch a Nova on Rome and write an essay. Here's the final line:
So the Colosseum is a blood house, and the reason for it was political power, as the Romans watched millions (sic) of people die, do you think they ever thought, "What if that was me?"

🌊 For the Border Chronicle, I translated Mexican writer Diego Rodríguez Landeros’ essay about the history of dams and water in Sonora. Very timely as the Río Sonora faces a proposal to build three new dams. Read here: t.co/y6CA0spHFW

10 years ago, a science fiction writer wrote a horrible future where everything goes wrong on the Colorado River. Today, it still seems plausible. @paolobacigalupi.bsky.social www.sltrib.com/artsliving/a...
What happens if we break the Colorado River?
Author Paolo Bacigalupi imagined a horrible future in which water management goes wrong in the West nearly 10 years ago in “The Water Knife.”
