I replied simply, “I’m American.” Watching their expressions melt into concern & empathy was eye opening. They said quietly, “Ohhhhh. Good luck.” as they exited at their floor. Sharing just in case anyone wonders how we are perceived outside of our own rotting country.

Shocking that a person who thought they were above the law, once again behaved as if they were above the law.
