I haven’t historically planted many annuals, but these gazanias are making a strong case for more. 😍

A sunset walk on a March evening along Yarmouth harbour with no wind is unusual - and absolutely beautiful. ✨

Just in case anyone wants to sit by a brook in the sun for a minute.

Hope via the natural world - where it can always be found. Today via impending daffodils and sunshine. ✨

Good morning!

A brave hyacinth looking a little worse for the wear. But they are resilient, and Spring will be here soon. I could smell it on the breeze today!

Good morning - it’s a very windy one. 😂

Egg washing. ✨ “Ordering chicks” is on this week’s to-do list, and I couldn’t be more delighted - I’m looking forward to having a few Olive Eggers again!

National unity around buying groceries and household staples is heartening today, as is this tiny cutting from a quince which has its first leaf - an experiment! 🌱 Hot tips: Down East laundry and dish detergents made in Dartmouth, NS = the BEST, Verv Skin’s deodorant made in New Minas is my fave. ✨

Best mail day! 🌱 Seeds are the ultimate examples of potential and hope. I’ve been carrying a few acorns in my pocket for several months now; at first it was because I didn’t get around to planting them, but now I keep them as a tangible reminder of the potential that exists in myself and others. ✨

Went out for a walk on this very dark and cloudy day; listened to Gardener’s Question Time, was snowed on, saw an owl and a mystery bird that may have been a pileated woodpecker, met a new neighbour, and collected the eggs. Going for a walk is always worth the effort. ❄️

Upside down clementine cake is out of the oven - a bit of sunshine to enjoy after skating this afternoon! Haven’t tasted it yet, but it smells amazing. The recipe is here; it took an extra 30 minutes in the oven: www.pookspantry.com/clementine-u...

Looking for heartening things? I am so grateful to be on earth at the same time as Robin Wall Kimmerer, and this book is a tiny gem. Listening to her interviewed on the Cultivating Place podcast was also a highlight of my week. All flourishing is mutual. ✨ www.cultivatingplace.org/post/all-flo...
