Is there a truer statement in education?

If we view discipline simply as manipulating children to conform, we aren't teaching them anything other than survival strategies

11)... something consistent, something that makes a demand avoidant child terrified of inconsistency feel more secure

The only thing scarier than failure and rejection to this child is losing control. With shame the fact those things will happen is inevitable, so controlling when means safety...

Look at this picture through the lense of the school uniform message we give children

Guy on the left is,
- more respectful
- more employable
- more trustworthy
- more hardworking

Then there's the reality!

It's 2025 it's time this nonsense stopped, a blazer and tie does none of those things
