The scientific activities of Dr. Gabriele Procaccini's group focus on understanding and predicting the responses of seagrasses and its associated communities to environmental changes, which is a key challenge for this century.
Just back from CNR-IAS (Sicily) after setting up our experiment, ECLIPSES!
We're diving into the fascinating role of chronobiology in regulating development, growth, and the stress response in Posidonia oceanica seedlings. 🌱Crucial for preserving these vital meadows?

Seed fever!
Researchers from the GPROLab are starting their experiments on Posidonia oceanica seeds and seedlings in Naples and Sicily.
Understanding the role of genetics, physiology and stress tolerance at early life stages is essential for their conservation and recovery

Who’s the oldest here?!

Today we collected Posidonia oceanica rhizomes near Ischia Island to estimate the age of these clones through lepidochronological analysis for the PhD project PLASTIC-AGE.
