omg so even worse. turns out he picked up an advertising sign that was blowing loose across the sidewalk as litter, thinking he should bring it to school and throw it in the trash, and he got lectured about theft and vandalism for that without being given a change to explain where he got it
kid got in trouble today for pulling down some illegal advertising from the side of the road while he was out on lunch break so mainly i guess i just gotta be better at teaching him to avoid cops both literal and metaphorical

my sons' teacher this year is such a fuckin cop and i'm getting less and less able to muster the diplomacy to respond to her "concerns" with my sons nicely to keep everything on good terms and make it easier for my boys

having had my sons early, they've always been too old to get hand-me-downs from anyone in our circles but finally this year we're not going to be scrambling for clothes for them because they fit in all my husband's skinny millennial clothes he's been hanging onto unworn for a decade
