Jerry B is a low rider. Also, a hellion.

Oh boy - lil’ Jerry B is exhausted *and* exhausting! no wonder all my pics of him are when he’s asleep.

Jerry B is here!

Oh boy - today is “Pick up the new puppy from the rescue” day! Hardly slept at all.

(Pics are from last weekend’s meet and greet - more to come this afternoon.)

Hey look! My book is in the window display over at Elliott Bay Book Company! There are signed copies of this and Rookfield on the “Horror” shelves or And In Her Smile, The World in the general Fiction area.

Today’s books and beer (for size comparison) - Bolaño’s ANTWERP (in a convenient pocket size) and K-PUNK, the collected writings of Mark Fisher from 2004-16 (maybe kangaroo-pocket-sized, if even), plus a Clean Press West Coast IPA from Fast Fashion.

Light reading deserves a light beer. “Mimesis: The Representation of Reality in Western Literature” and a pint (or several) of Douglas Lager. One’s a PNW local, one’s Erich Auerbach.

Today’s book pick-up and a Purple Haze beer at McMenamins. Randomly heard about the Dazai and put in an order, but and tonight I’m going to see James at the Showbox, so wanted a lil’ book to read on the bus and in line.

If you’re ever foolish enough to give me your phone number, this is the kind of nonsense you get when I’m a few beers deep.

Picked this up today at @leftbankbooks.bsky.social on a books/beer excursion.

Tag yourself. I’m a 6, leaning towards 4 depending on the day.

I am very annoyed to have found that I am more in touch with my creativity, think more deeply about my art, am more excited to get back to my projects, and am much more positive towards my work, finding it to be of value, when I *do* write every day. Highly annoying that consistency wins yet again.

Probably hanging out with their friend, Jeff the Diseased Lung. Taking in the sights and going out to long lunches.

Very curious about your recent anti-brand post. Do you think that authors should or should not try to cultivate a distinctive “style”? Here’s two screenshots from an “Against Style” article that have been living in my head recently. revistaeldiletante.com/trabajos/con...

Despite @wnwagner.bsky.social telling me I should throw this novel away (all context removed for the sake of a good story 😂) I’m going to give it one more shot. You can see from the notes on the cover what my goals are here.

No new pics, where are you at mentally?

Remembering when I posted this as an example of some of the nonsense that comes out of my daily pages practice. Normally it’s just complaining about the day before, but sometimes weird stuff comes up. I use it as sprinting practice for stories - start with a sentence or image and just play it out.

Saucy’s 14 and a little bit less spry, but still a hellion when she wants to be and still the sweetest loaf.

One thing I loved about WorldCon is how much of the world was there. After attending an awesome talk on the New Weird in Latin America by Mallory Craig-Kuhn, I picked up this book by @ramirosanchiz.bsky.social and, yep, this is my kind of thing. I might never have otherwise heard of him!

To quote Leibniz (but only as far as it applies to @keithrosson.bsky.social and his books):
