Important. You can plant a load of seed to regenerate facsimile species rich grassland but you don't get back the full ecosystem with all its invertebrates for a very long time - 75yrs here. But this assumes all the needed invertebrates have somewhere nearby to come back from!

Did you know California Grasslands support over 2600 species, many of which are endemic?

We are making progress and restoration efforts are successful, but only currently commonly restore 7 or 0.26% of those species! Connecting practitioners is the next step!

Please consider non-profit society journals when you choose a journal for submitting your work AND for reviewing/editing.
Between 2019 and 2023, researchers paid $8.968 billion to make papers open access. Imagine what else could be done with this money if it wasnt paid to for profit publishing companies...
