Episode 2 of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, and we get the double-reveal of 1.) the existence of other would-be vigilantes that want to be Kamen Rider heroes, in this case Tackle from Kamen Rider Stronger and 2.) the revelation that Shocker actually exists. Animators are clearly having fun, too.

Watched the 1st episode of The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess on Crunchyroll. It's another send up of the "villainess" trope, only this time it's a office lady who gets Truck-kun-ed into a fanfic-level world that she created when she was in middle school, so it's mega-cringe as a gag.

Watched the 1st episode of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, a show about embracing one's inner cringe, on Crunchyroll. Premise is a 40 year old Kamen Rider fanatic is ready to give up on his dream of being a real super hero, until a chance encounter with "Shocker"-themed robbers changes his fate.

Watched the 1st episode of May I Ask for One Final Thing? (aka "One-Punch Lass") on Crunchyroll. The premise is the heroine is unjustly accused of villainy and dumped by her abusive fiancé, the 2nd Prince, and she proceeds to beat the stuffing out of him and all of his cronies with her bare fists.

@violencejill.bsky.social I regret to inform you that your smithy is infested with tonberries. You'll have to call an exterminator to root them out. 🔪🔪🔪

Some Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail nerdery this morning. I made a Halloween glamour for my Dark Knight job. It's a tiny Gideon the Ninth from the Locked Tomb trilogy.

In order to make my "Spooky Season" viewing easier this year, I made a list of 31 films I intend to watch during October. It's in alphabetical order. I may swap out individual titles for other, similar films depending on availability. As you can see, it's heavy on ghosts and vampires at the moment.

I just realized I never shared this screen-cap from the Lalafell-only Alliance raid that I led through The Tower at Paradigm's Breach in Final Fantasy XIV a few weeks ago. This is us all mugging at 2B after finishing off the last boss. I'm the one on right in the Popola cosplay.

Next week @docsane.bsky.social and I are teaming up to talk about the would-be epic space opera of Sayonara, Jupiter (1984), a very confused SFX film indeed. Please post your questions and comments here if you'd like to participate in the Fan Feedback section of the Greatest Movie EVER! Podcast.

I watched Backlash: Oblivion 2 (1996) on DVD. Back in my video store employee days, this one used to rent like hot cakes on the strength of its cover art alone. Alas, it didn't live up to the first film. Very low budget, hammy acting, dubious set design and locations, and way too much bad comedy.

I watched the Warhammer 40K episode of Secret Level on Amazon Prime. It's atmospheric and well-produced. My only complaint is that it plays into the worst impulses of 40K story-telling, i.e. focusing on the Ultramarines and Titus from the Space Marine video game series, and these are kinda mid.

I watched the first episode of Denkin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole on Crunchyroll. It's from the same author as Hozuki's Coolheadedness, and deals with a lazy, modern day hermit who is cursed with immortality and has to collect soul-fire to buy his way into the afterlife. He's a slacker, though...
