There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

In fact:

— US equipment abandoned to the Taliban is being sold for $$$

— Ukraine needs all its weapons

— Russia has long supported Hamas, and, as Hamas openly explained just after Oct 7, gave Hamas material support of weapons (and likely intelligence) during the critical 2 yr planning window

RFK wrote an op-ed for Fox News that ostensibly promotes MMR vaccination to address measles outbreaks.

But there are still crumbs for the anti-vax & MAGA audience. I wonder how his messaging will evolve and if these hints will get less subtle in future outbreaks.

There is nothing “realistic” about the torch that is being put to US foreign policy. It takes a real partisan hive mind not to see this.
"Trump is in a tradition of realist presidents, going back to Theodore Roosevelt more than a century ago, who have viewed world politics as a great-power club, rather than an arena for idealism."

the idea that realists would look at the present international order and not see a spectacular apparatus for leveraging American national interest is stupid -- they're the ones who fucking built the system to leverage American national interest in the first place

Trump is obviously an idiot not an ideologue, but the argument here pulls off a trick that is crucial to the American unilateralist tradition

it acts like America's treaty alliances and reserve currency status are gifts the US gives the world rather than the actual basis of American power

I know it's pointless to say this, but the Beneficial Ownership reporting is really simple to do. The only way it's an "absolute disaster" or "economic menace" is if you are fully aware that writing down your owners will produce criminal liability.

We need language for a simple, easy to understand Constitutional amendment to overturn the USSC immunity decision. We need good language first, then start a campaign for it. Voters from all sides have an interest in not having a president (possibly from the other party) who is above the law.
