Farinata is delicious! We first tried it in a little restaurant in Lucca, with big glasses of red wine. I love it topped with a bit of pesto.

I blame high school textbooks. So dull, and only about communicating facts. My first contact with well-written history was Churchill’s History of the English Speaking People. Suddenly history seemed alive!

I’m an Anglican church music director: we’re singing it for the 4th Sunday in Advent. I just sang the first verse to my husband (in my cracked grandma voice) and I can’t stop crying. So beautiful.
