Jesus did not die for the sake of traditional gender roles
Whose property is always to have mercy
But thou art the same Lord

Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy, *
for we have had more than enough of contempt,
Too much of the scorn of the indolent rich, *
and of the derision of the proud. #MorningPrayer 📕

The Anglican Diocese of Edmonton is a proud sponsor of today’s Trans Day of Remembrance event here in #yeg 🕯️

Statement culture has gone too far. There should be a moratorium on all statements until we can figure out how a government can issue this statement literally one day after passing laws that acknowledge they break the Charter in order to harm the trans community. Holy cognitive distance, Batman!
And here's the UCP statement on the Transgender Day of Remembrance from Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women Tanya Fir.

I am not kidding when I say this is idolatry and blasphemy. It is wicked and will prey on people Jesus loves. I call on the church to declare this anathema.

Immigration ✨ IS A GOOD THING ✨
They don’t want LEGAL immigration either, in case there were still any doubts.
Scoop: The Trump administration is planning a policy change that could make it harder for immigrants to get green cards and other approvals if they are from countries subject to the president’s travel ban, according to internal documents.

People make fun of me for my staunch AI opposition but you cannot tell me this sort of thing leads anywhere good.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Happy St Martin's Day! May we follow his example in renouncing violence, giving to Christ in the poor, and defending the orthodox truth of the Incarnation against Arian heresy. 🕯️

OK but how do we all know about the Edmund Fitzgerald? I definitely did not learn about this until I moved to Canada, and even once I knew did not find it as big a deal as the memes this year seem to be. How did I miss this lore?
yes yes we all know about the Edmund Fitzgerald, rest her soul, but did you know about the ship laden with explosives that sank in the mouth of the Thames in 1944 and could explode at any minute and which attempts to disarm keep failing

This is a great article about LOTR, D&D, and so much more
The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

They said this when Roe fell about why they couldn’t do anything then…with Biden as president. Look at how that turned out and ask yourself if you believe them this time.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.
