Yup- he single-handedly trashed the brand with his behavior. And Tesla really hasn't developed their line of cars significantly. It's much the same lineup of models and they don't have a great reputation for quality. The cyber truck is the modern day Edsel.

I could your office last night & again today. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin need to leave their leadership positions. Democrats need fighters, not leaders who give up.

Until I see you or other Senators demanding a change in leadership, I’m not going to believe anything Democrats say they will do
November 11, 2025 at 3:07 AM
Exactly. Once the right-wing legal groups serve up a perfectly engineered case, the SCOTUS will be happy to overturn Obergefell.
November 10, 2025 at 10:51 PM
True- but this isn’t a dumb conspiracy. Senators Shaheen has stated they had party leadership on board for their negotiations and Dick Durbin is the Democratic Party whip in the Senate

I’m not dismissing the importance of zoning law changes & have supported and then watched bills for zoning change (allowing more Multifamily housing developments) in my local county council get brought forward & killed. The county where I live has an affordable housing crisis.

Completely accurate. I have a friend who owns a small veterinary practice and he’s completely frustrated by what PE has done to his industry. It’s impossible to find young veterinarians interested in joining a small practice & PE firms buy up his competitors and then enshitify the operation

But if small home builders cant get financing, the only builders getting these projects will be the large players. More competition amongst builders is important because it influences what gets built.

You’re going to have to get specific on where he’s being misleading or inaccurate.

Seems to me he’s highly focused on corporate power and consolidation

Is his reporting accurate?

I don’t need him to be a progressive in his politics- it’s the long form investigative journalism that is of interest. And he consistently reveals details about corporate predatory behavior that is valuable
November 10, 2025 at 1:22 PM
Schumer either gave the green light to this group on the down-low (so he could publicly disavow it while getting an off-ramp from the shutdown) or he has zero control over his caucus. Either way, it reflects poorly on him. Democrats need a fighter leading the Senate. Schumer isn’t that

I just called both of my senators (both democrats) to express my deep, deep anger

They are caving for the promise of magic beans. Sold the milk cow for a handful of magic beans

JFC!!! What the hell is Schumer THINKING?!!!!

Hold the God Damned line you bastards!

That’s a fairly convenient way of completely dismissing a viewpoint you don’t want to hear
November 10, 2025 at 1:26 AM
That may be- I still look at Matt Stoller’s investigative reporting and think he’s nailed the issues. I live in Maryland and the real estate market here is showing all the issues Stoller writes on. There’s a real lack of affordable housing here now. I don’t know how 1st time buyers make it
November 8, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Big builders have become large enough, and with ties to private equity able to control housing inventories to maximize prices & profits.
November 8, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Stoller’s key conclusions are the 2008 financial crises damaged the home builder industry- small players got squeezed out and large builders consolidated and grew large enough to be able to Hoover up financing- even developing financing arms within their own organizations.

Local zoning & NIMBY residents are a problem. But Matt Stoller did a well researched pice on the housing market in his “Big” column on Substack. Stoller covers corporations behaving badly, monopolies, & consolidation.

Great analysis here- open.substack.com/pub/mattstol...
Messing With Texas: How Big Homebuilders and Private Equity Made American Cities Unaffordable
Dallas was one of the last big cities in America where a working family could buy a house. No longer. And it's not because of zoning policy—it's because of corporate consolidation and private equity.

A member of my church worked at Goddard & was forced to quit. They loved their job there, but between DOGE running amok & the hollowing out of NASA, it was quit or be fired or watch every mission you worked on be canceled, while waiting to be fired. Fortunately they were able to retire.

Getting rid of Andy Harris is going to be very hard to do without putting those already heavily gerrymandered blue seats at risk.

MD already lost one court case when an earlier gerrymandering effort was too damned brazen.

This isn’t the cakewalk pundits would have you believe.
November 8, 2025 at 12:17 PM
I live in Maryland and I live in an area that Democrats have f#^ked with during redistricting in an attempt to make the 1st district more competitive. People need to understand:
1) MD is ALREADY heavily gerrymandered
2) there is a SIZABLE MAGA population here
