In all seriousness: the last 2 weeks of TikTok posturing and Zuck grovelling, combined with the X insanity of the last year, should show you that an app with a feed that you don’t control serves *other people’s interests* - not yours.

NUCS is a Numba-powered constraint solver: github.com/yangeorget/n...

It's an area I don't know much about, but Optimal Golomb Ruler stuff sounds cool!

(A long time ago I think I participated in the distributed.net search for OGRs)

Trying to verify that all versions of an inline function are identical seems like a "fun" problem (from Raymod Chen's blog): devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/...
A common proposed solution to certain categories of IFNDR: Getting the linker to verify identical functions - The Old New Thing
You could do it, but it could cramp your style.

Been working through Advent of Code in github.com/gmarkall/aoc... - keeping it simple so that when it gets tricky I'm less likely to be derailed.

Taking a look at day 4 later today, as I have some commitments this morning.

To-do list for this week:

- Call an old friend
- Pin down the track on my son's N gauge trainset (it's a work in progress!)
- Make mince pies (I get into a Christmas mood through food, and I'm about ready for it already this year)

The iMac appeals to me as a fantasy of a simple life - where I don't need to use a computer outside the house, and computing sessions are simple and non-technical, for tasks not really related to computers. Having all my computing needs met by just an iMac at home feels like a retirement dream.
