So many hip hop heads are wildly inconsistent with their “rules”. Some apply to some artists, but not all. If anything, it shows bias over knowledge and acceptance of reality.

It’s wild to me that I went from avidly supporting and spreading the word on the work of some folks to actively avoiding it altogether. The worst part is, it ain’t me. There were chances to do solid, the opposite happened. I was straight up disrespected and they didn’t like that I said something.

It’s been about a year since my dad passed away. Crazy how fast time goes by. A year ago today, I saw the homie @bdolan.bsky.social rock the mic before getting on the road the next day to my mom’s for the holiday. That show gave me great energy to do that holiday without dad. Grateful for that.

Context: That artist (and adjacent people) made it very obvious that they had some unknown and unspoken problem with me. THAT was the catalyst for deletion. Like I said, it didn’t feel good at all.
I recently deleted a shit load of music from my phone. All of one artist. It didn’t feel good at all. I hate doing it, but it was definitely personal.

Short, but true story: I used to catch a lot of interaction from an account. Then I saw some half-assed commentary from that account and took issue and commented. They acted highly defensive about it (even though they admitted they half-assed commented before I said anything). Now, they ghost me. 🤔

At this point, it’s pretty obvious that a certain artist and their “crew” is avoiding me. From what I can tell, it’s on them too. Sad part is, I have been a SUPPORTER. I bought the records, the merch, spread the word. Sadly, thinking that’s over now. Damn.
