Been away from my art desk for a bit due to a move, but I forgot to post this earlier, so here's a freebie while I get back into the swing of things. Back in May, I reworked one of my Pokémon Design concepts. Adjusted the pose and the build and now Curapice feels much better.

Been doing some Pokemon art. My linework has gotten a lot better since I started. Still struggling a little with how shading and lighting works.

The smith is based on the Kindler from ORAS!

So Rayquaza is the "leader" of Hoenn's Weather Trio, and the mascot box art legendary of Pokemon Emerald Version, back when Nintendo would do a third "updated" game for each region with new and improved content. It's most famously known for that *one* cutscene, where it comes down from the sky 2/🧵

And last but not least, #007, Smolt. It's name comes directly from one of the stages of the Salmon life cycle (and also he is very smol). Salmon are a big deal in Washington State, but starters are usually amphibious. So I put my fish up on a bubble while he gets his land legs.

#004 is Kiddling. This playful mountain goat is based on said goats that inhabit the cascades, as well as prospectors; there were plenty of mining towns during the gold rush, which also inspired its evolutionary line's signature move, Gold Rush.

At #001 is Pecktal! It's a Grass Type based on the Dodo Bird (a lot of grass starters are inspired by extinct animals), and the Rhododendron, the Washington State flower. I was aiming to present different personalities among each of the starters, and Pecktal's is "anxious". Mood, little buddy.

Looked at my Steam Year in Review, and... well... yeah, that seems about right.

Anyway, this is a cool Pokemon and it makes sense why people like it. I'm going to go find a magic rock to give *me* anchor-arms as well, so I'll be strong enough to lift my spirits. 14/14

It is *so freaking cute* and that's why it ended up having a popular internet meme. Because u herd corektly, i do liek mudkipz. They really invoke a lot of "puppy" energy to me that I can't really explain. 4 legs, tiny and cute, just happy to be here even though there's not a thought going on. 7/14

We haven't seen live and moving it in the anime yet, but it cameo'd and it looks like twin beam comes out of the tail-helm's mouth. It's focusing all of the giraffe-head's lasers like a funnel. How rad is that? I want my giraffe funnel-face lasers. 8/11
