Fun but serious. Philosophy mostly aligns with Democrats & Utilitarianism. Love progress & ok if that makes me a “progressive”. No to stupid = no to DJT & co. CASA supporter. I’m a Yooper, ah?
No DMs please.

The ability to travel, trade & communicate easily has made the world “smaller” & has made the US smaller & thus we are all impacted by all politics, because I can quickly move between states. 40% of Americans have lived in more than one state. In today’s world, it all matters. Exhausting!
Anyone suggesting that the “drug runners” were trying to flip their destroyed boat over to take off have no common sense or life experience. It’s hard to right a flipped-over canoe, for goodness sakes! These crazy claims are an embarrassment to all those who make them!

This morning’s news more upsetting than usual. Regarding the illegal boat strike-no, men clinging to the side of the bombed boat were NOT going to “flip it back over” & continue on. AND $120k per yr in ACA fraud is not considered “massive fraud” in terms of the $ involved. The reporting is so poor!

Once an Election Day has begun, polls, conjecture or anything that could impact voters (like causing them to think they cannot make an impact with their vote), should be disallowed.
I do not support election results being “called” before all the votes are counted.

Total bullshit to me.

Greed is an American culture flaw. US policies have rewarded greed resulting in the government being sold to the greediest of Americans perpetuating wealth inequality. (wealth isn’t synonymous with greed, but can lead to greed- much like drinking can lead to alcoholism for those with the propensity)
Agree or disagree?

My health insurance premiums will more than double in January. I pay a little less than $500/month for my current silver plan.

I just reapplied and my new premium will be $1062/month.

And don’t forget: I still have a co-pay for every visit and pay for prescriptions.

The air space over/around Venezuela was declared closed by DJT on social media. Is this how important notices are disseminated now? I’m not comfortable trusting my flight security to this slap-dash method of notification meant to reach critical people about important flight path changes.

Will humans continue to be creative once we begin to rely on AI? Creative people have a drive to create now. Is it a feature of DNA? Will humans continue to contribute to the collective intelligence that is the basis for AI? Or do we just give up now & let our minds become lazy & mush? Interesting.

Our justice system is so sluggish as to be an actual danger. Let’s stop hitting ourselves & demand a more responsive & fluid system of justice.
A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

The EPA will approve two new pesticides containing “forever chemicals” and relax a reporting rule for companies who make products with forever chemicals.

The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the forever chemical industry.

Where is the MAHA outcry?

@joycewhitevance.bsky.social a discussion about the practical impacts & benefits the release of the Epstein documents would have for his victims would be very informative. Like perhaps the ability to use the information as evidence in a civil lawsuit, one of the few means to exact accountability.

The DOE has re-classified some college majors (below) as not professional and making them not eligible for Federal loans this was in the big beautiful bill.
Here’s the list of majors:

We track the right wing outrage machine to expose how fear programming spreads and how these narratives shape people’s beliefs before they know they’re being influenced. Understanding the playbook is the first step in defeating it. #Voices4Victory #DV1 #USDemocracy #ProudBlue 11/21/25AM

Many in top positions in the House are warning that Epstein info, when released, may be altered. Are there plans to determine if the docs have been tampered with? The DJT administration is famously incompetent, so feels like a coverup could be easily detected. And then what? Exhausting!

As America becomes more like an oligarchy with the wealth & associated power concentrated to the few 1%, it’s time to realize that the US government hasn’t belonged to the American people for a long time & belongs to those who have purchased the opportunity to prey on the other 99%.
Epstein survivor: "Today we stand in a moment that will decide whether our government still belongs to the American people or to those who prey on them."

I believe (because I’m old & have life experience & because I’m of pretty sound mind that is able to use logic) that the Epstein files are rife with names of the very wealthy/famous. AND JE made most of his money from blackmail which was also the reason for his murder. GM probably has the goods.

This doesn’t seem to happen often enough- wherever & whenever a person claiming to work for ICE is acting in a way that endangers citizens while having no paper proof of their authority, arrests should be made. We expect our law enforcement to protect the local population it’s sworn to serve.
Dear ICE: They don't let you wear a mask in your mug shot.
Great news. This is what an ICE agent looks like in a mugshot. Meet Gerardo Rodriguez, 45, of Temecula, courtesy of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested for "illegally detaining a minor at gunpoint while off duty last week." 🧵

Voting must be made patriotic again.
AND the most patriotic of voters educate themselves (& not via FOX talking points) and choose a candidate that is on the ballot- vote for the least objectionable! Make your vote count!

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

To pile on, IMHO it is our responsibility as voters to cast a meaningful vote, which is to say, to vote for the least objectionable candidate. If we don’t vote for the best, even if the best isn’t our ideal, then we will end up with the worst.
It’s apparently way more satisfying to show up every 4 years and go “these candidates suck, I’m not voting for them” than to vote in the primaries and have a say in who the candidates are.

There is a group of people on this site who are out and proud about that strategy.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

It’s time for Dems to educate voters on the fiscal record of the parties. I consider it a dereliction of duty not to display a deficit history chart based on administration every time there are public comments about the US budget. Americans must understand which is the fiscally responsible party.
Jeffries: We are not going to be lectured by anyone on the other side of the aisle about fiscal responsibility when the bill that you just passed is the most fiscally irresponsible piece of legislation ever…

Greed takes on many forms. People way past retirement age who continue to hold an elected position simply because lazy Americans enable them thru lack of voting or name recognition, are greedily hogging up a seat that should belong to a talented younger person building their political career.
November 11, 2025 at 7:31 PM
It’s unfortunate, but it appears the Dems must allow the Reps to show their stripes, with massive insurance hikes that voters can’t/won’t ignore. People are going to die, whether or not they voted for this madness. This huge reversal in fortune for millions of Americans will impact votes.
