because publicity is perhaps the most important thing to an artist outside of getting actual money. and if i have no actual money to give you what the fuck does it matter then? do you make art for it to be consumed or just so you can make money?

I dont think its contradictory in the least, because i think piracy is a miniscule part of the problem. its a scapegoat and it always has been. Its the same old tired argument from 2000 with Napster. Pirates support artists whether you believe it or not.

I hope your book frees you from the daily grind. We're all struggling. I dont think anyone deserves to starve and i think we should all have the freedom to pursue our art and succeed or fail without fear of starving. I think publishers should pay artists better.
