Wow, formating a Table of Contents for KDP is a nightmare. Especially since I'm in Open Office. This has become the biggest deterrent to publish than anything else.

I am on 5th check of the stories now. Trying to really tailor things to their smoothest while also checking to make sure the subtle meta-narrative threads are still intact.

Any other #indiewriters have protips for editing your work? Used spell check, ran it through Grammerly and had a friend read most of it.
Doing very slow reads (after writing it months ago) and finding small typos, like missed capitalization or spelling it "baited" instead of "bated". Big struggle.

Going through all the short stories in the collection I want to self publish and one of these horror stories is genuinely funny! It's funny until it becomes existential dread.
