I just feel broken. Really broken and alone.

I’m 36, disabled, and even though my mom has no paralysis (thank god) and is recovering, her cognitive deficits mean that for the foreseeable future and possibly the rest of her life, my life is going to consist of caregiving. How do I build a support system from nothing in that? Especially up here?

Family has (because they love and are close with my mom). My mom’s friends have.

But my friends? Pretty much it’s just diminishing care reacts on Facebook.

Some folks have sent some money to help deal with the financial chaos that has come with it, and I appreciate that so much. And the people I’ve texted have responded.

But nobody’s reaching out to me. Checking in on me. Asking how I’m doing. Offering to listen. That’s pretty heart shattering.
