Poking cattle around one day......National Champion the next. Local young lady, Lali Alt has taken out National Champion. Competing in the Southern Cross Feeds EA Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships Lali brought home the Intermediate rider 12,13,14 years Champion representing NSW and  riding Kolbeach Cowboy, owned by Lali. The event held at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre Victoria ran from 4 - 6th December 2025 Lali, who was featured on the front page of Issue 19 of the Glen Innes News in September, has been recognised for her dedication and amazing horse skills in taking out this prestigious award.  Congratulations have flowed from our schools, equestrian and broader community to the Alt family. A small crowd gathered near the Town Square for the first draw of Spend In Glen at Thursday nights late night shopping. With the  hum of local busker, Nathan Skinner, singing "Hallelujah" and the alluring aroma of sizzling snags, courtesy of Glen Innes Lionesses, 11 envelopes were drawn from the barrel by local identities including Bill and Moira Munro,  Sue Waters and the Mayor. The winners are now been contacted, picking up their cards loaded with cash to be spent at local participating  Glen Innes businesses.  The main prize for this draw went to Gail McIntyre.

GIPS NEWS Glen Innes Public School (GIPS) has been buzzing with activity as we approach the end of another busy year. Last week, in partnership with the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), GIPS celebrated the attendance success of our First Nations students.  Attendance goals were set at the beginning of the term and those who were able to meet their goal were invited to an afternoon of fun games with their families. We are excited to have shared the afternoon with almost 60 children from GIPS, Glen Innes High School and some of the small schools.
