You'd think with how good computers are, we would be able to move a document into a new folder when it was open.

I don't think I'm asking for too much here.

I'd fancy in a parliamentary democracy the Trump Dump would have the leader out of office, or on a last chance to change course.
Presidential system means Trump can double down on more tariffs and deeper trade wars.

This is very good.

Jaw dropping watching that earlier. What a total excuse for a human being the American's have as President.

Daughter about to get a quick economics & politics lesson this morning.

I think about this a lot. How previous generations worked in dusty factories, repaired old clothes, lived in cold, damp houses & holidayed at a seaside town 50 miles from home.
Now we sit in front of laptops, drinking 4 coffees before 11am.
Aldos Huxley's Brave New World (1932) is happening.
quite a spicy column in this week's newsletter, on the politics of telling people that their lives need to get worse: youngvulgarian.substack.com/p/why-things...

Imagine bringing up the 20 year old murder of a teenager to make a political point.
Gutter level doesn't come close to what Musk is steeping to.
What a horrible, irredeemable, morally bankrupt individual.

Such a weird obsession Musk has tweeting about all time low fertility rates. This is a normal trend in developed countries where people have access to contraception. Musk leaving enough open to be a sinister reason behind it.

Has anyone noticed the cost of protection has gone through the roof? Feel like this is a big issue for planning as it was always a core of a financial plan. But costs seem to be astronomical for modest protection plans!

I think the NYT has to retire Connections. It's clear the game has run it's course and is next to impossible most days now. I will not be saying anything further on this matter.

The only thing @bsky.app is missing is a good iPad app. Really really hope it's in the pipeline.

Question. If you were a contemporary in the 60s, was it uncool to like the Beatles?
More men need to tell us they've never been a fan of The Beatles. It shows an independence of thought but also profound intellectual insight; a refusal to run with the herd. I especially like to see it in response to someone expressing their love of the group. It's outspoken, contrary and brave.

Twitter is hideous following the vote in parliament today. People blatantly misrepresenting the legislation, claiming disabled people will be murdered and this amounts to state sponsored suicide.

Personal feeling is that people should have the option for assisted dying. It is inhumane to let terminally ill people drown in the fluid in their lungs or starve to death. Once your time is up, you should be able to end your suffering.

Wow. There's plenty of things to critique the Chancellor for. This is not one of them.
🚨 NEW: Chancellor Rachel Reeves has charged taxpayers £371 for subscriptions to The Economist and The Financial Times since March

Bryson deChambeau hole in 1 challenge (now on day 10).
Odds of a pro holing out from 100 yards are 900/1. If this rings true, Bryson will need 42 days to get to 900 shots.
Can argue if it is harder not being able to see the target or easier hitting the same shot over & over. Still a tough ask.

BlueSky has reached critical mass. We're not going back!
Has anybody on here done the World Cup Of Crisps yet?

2 bad days for Jaguar in a row!

Seems like BlueSky now has a critical mass and should have a lot more growing to do.
Test will be if wider news and sports accounts will use this for when live things are happening.
Despite a massive head start, BlueSky has now overtaken Threads in the US 👇

Clearly crypto is now considered an asset class that people invest in. People have made a lot of money from it, but it should be very much considered a high risk investment. Here is a cautionary tale. 🧵

New evidence suggests the YouTuber promoted investments without revealing his financial interest in them.

A big change in the budget means that unspent pension pots will now be part of your inheritance tax assessment. What might this mean in practice? 🧵

We see so many political interviews in TV studios with 6 mins of Gotcha questions (Kay Burley particularly guilty). It's such a turn off. Podcasting - the Rest is Politics and News Agents - have shown you can have robust and constructive dialogue with people. Explore issues and policy properly.
New Rest Is Politics LEADING with Mhairi Black. You do not need to be an SNP supporter to feel sad that someone so young and talented has had enough of Parliament. Fascinating on independence, inequality and

Every time I refresh twitter or go to the top of my feed, there's an Elon Musk tweet. I know I could block or mute him but what should happen is I see actual important tweets from him that have genuine traction. Not just him spewing his consciousness into the world.
