I did finish the game. With a choice most hated me for 😅 but as the story went, everybody else were even less persuasive, and I tried to role play a total outsider.

I am surprised how many of these culprits bred in the Zone since last time! They do give you chills, even though you learn to kill them. These nasty sounds… especially when you are almost out of ammo

#clairobscurexpedition33 and #stalker have something in common - a willing escape from reality into a magical and dangerous world. One is a personal trauma, the other is much more social and cultural trauma. Both feel helpless.

I made the same choice though.

These emissions are an interesting mechanic. They do give to the atmosphere as well. Also give unpleasant reminders that not only in games people are forced to look for shelters today.

The first time I started the game - I picked veteran. And these bloodsuckers almost gave me a mental breakdown, so much HP they have. But it taught me a lesson of modesty.

Stalker games do have their charm. I won’t lie, the sequel has lost a lot since the previous games I wish they could implement, yet still, it gives you the vibes.

What is quite annoying in this game is the amount of travel and stamina of the character. Going back and forth for so many times. And I understand why there is no transport in game, but man, give me my fast travel

#clairobscureexpedition33 is a very simple game. Veilguard-style level design, basic platforming, limited exploration and simplistic battle system. But strong story telling and extremely polished within its limitations. It’s not trying to be what it is not and it’s beautiful.

Special features of Eastern European games is they are hardcore in its own way. Gameplay, realism requirement, etc. Limited by the resources, they usually want to mirror the reality with a twist.

Stalker is so full of authentic Ukrainian stuff, including the language dialects, its mixed versions, and different catchphrases that playing it in Ukrainian is a unique experience we have little examples of.

Stalker is very dear to loyal fans in Ukraine. Those people in the game romanticize the Zone as a chance of a new life. Dangerous, full of hardships… a dream. It’s also interesting how the story lets your challenge that.

I wasn’t very excited about Dave the Diver, but got it with PS Plus and decided to try it. And I love it! It has a bit excessive features, I can’t get enough of diving, and it has excessive dialogs, but still great game!

I like how they finished the story of Markvart von Aulitz. He was set up to be a villain, cruel killer. But he was just a man diligently doing his work, being on the other side.

It’s a nice quote! The game does show how flexible the morality is, though the vibe is for Henry to be a chivalrous knight and to have these struggles. I think mom still was disappointed 😅

The game does not romanticize the war and I like it. Yeah, the interface for fighting multiple enemies is horrible, on the other side - you are not winning a sword fight against multiple armed foes.

I really love how developers work with the historical material! I read about Ziska after the game, and the story with his lost eye, I think they played around it brilliantly.
