by my count, there are 706 brackets left in the COP16 decision texts, and just over 18 hours until the summit's scheduled end.

can the brackets be cleared at the rate of one every two minutes?

The draft text on access and benefit-sharing under the Nagoya Protocol has been submitted for consideration and it says...

"We can't agree; we'll deal with this later."

at an FAO side event on loss & damage in agriculture, PIK's johan rockström says 3C of warming is "nothing less than a disastrous outcome" for the earth

as loss and damage costs increase, he adds, it puts pressure on gov's to act for mitigation

UAE climate + enviro minister announces the emirates declaration, to wide applause at #COP28

130+ countries have signed on to a declaration that includes:

- recognition of climate impacts on agriculture
- intention to integrate food systems into NDCs by 2025
