My first single authored paper....has been published online! It is Open Access!

In this piece, I reflect on how musical professionals (namely highly competent listeners) perceive music looking at cases of employment of auditory perception in musical practices

Knowing how to listen: musical professionals listening to music
The idea that musical professionals with extended musical knowledge, training and exposure to musical pieces, can perceive music differently than other listeners - I call this the Difference Thesis...

Have you ever had a situation in which a delivery could decide your next couple of years? I sent some documents through both currier and postal service. Neither of the two delivered in time. The office to which they were destinated is now unsure about the possibility of accepting them with delays...

How do academics manage when they have contracts constantly delayed/postponed/put on "pending for request of further documents"? how do you preserve your mental health? and how do you survive materially speaking? ....asking for a friend...

I finished the draft of a paper yesterday and I started noting a pattern with my submissions...every time I feel that I am close to submitting a paper my anxiety skyrocket all at a sudden which does not make much sense as the work is basically done, anyone else like me?

What do people do when they start a novel and they realise that they hate it? I have always convinced myself that the best path was to finish the book to give it a proper chance....but for the first time in my life, I am a third into the book and I am considering giving up on what I am reading!

I created a new instagram profile where I plan to share reels about interesting philosophical ideas that I have come across in my research, teaching, and, more generally, in reading philosophy. Give me a follow, if you are curious about what I have bumped into while writing on perceiving music!

I am thinking about getting involved in more public engagement activities to promote philosophy outside the university. I have some experience but I would love more suggestions: Philosophers, what do you do to engage the general public in philosophy making?

I had a great experience at the end of last week at SIFA Conference 2025 - "Minds and Worlds"! My paper was well received, and I now have a good idea to fix my introduction! I enjoyed it so much meeting up with both new colleagues and old friends!

In 2023/2024, I acted as a research assistant on a project on barriers to conducting research. Our first paper just got published! I am extremely thankful to my team and to my manager for this interesting and very needed work!

In 2024, as research assistant, I could support a project on barriers to conducting research. It has been my first time getting involved in empirical research and I am so happy that my team just received an acceptance for our first paper!

Woke up to a paper rejection this morning....yet, some of the comments are really helpful, and most of them are expressed in a supportive, charitable tone...half a win? First time receiving a rejection which does not make me want to run away from toxic patterns in academia!

One of my best PhD buddies is off to China shortly after passing her Viva recently. I miss her already even if she just visited us for one last cup of tea! I am so grateful that I have had her in my academic and personal journey. She is such a caring, kind soul, and a smart, supportive academic.
