I’ve heard they’re in Greenville, too. Also the Boone, Blowing Rock area. i can’t imagine the fear those folks are feeling.

A worthy goal, Joe, I get it. The system simply does not work in a lot of places, and SC is definitely one of them and people who don’t live here have a hard time understanding that.

Don't get me wrong, I do think voting is important and I will continue to vote in every election, but boy, it's beyond frustrating to be a Dem in South Carolina. I hope we get a better alternative someday.
p.s., I do think my vote mattered in getting Neal Collins elected in 2022 (by 3 votes).

Completely justified. Living in South Carolina if you’re anything other than a republican will do that to you.

Could have better communicated why this is notable: This is a special election in a district that went +18% for Trump in 2024, and includes Tarrant County - a belwether and the state's 4th-largest county, where Republicans have openly tried to suppress Democratic votes and power.
In Texas 9th SD, Democrat Taylor Rehmet is leading three candidates-including Leigh Wambsganss, a well-known Christian nationalist activist who was supported by Trump, Texas GOP leaders and far-right donor Tim Dunn. The district includes Tarrant County, a +5% Trump county + bellwether for the state.
