Texan living in California, hopefully I’m hiking or reading. My hair is the least interesting thing about me.
Yes I researched it more specifically and found more information on it and againred board members can make all sorts of decisions even in a blue state. Newsoem the blue governor of the state came out against the district for this “ban”

Also correcting myself because I’m quite disappointed.

You’re*

Dang your right I absolutely read it incorrectly! I still don’t thinking best/beating should ever be a term used for punishment for children. But also most studies show that physical punishment not only isn’t necessary but it can be detrimental to your child’s life.

Maybe check before you post.

Context, the context of beat is bit a harsher than even spanking, heck I even meantioned bruises. From what I understand the majority of studies on beating your kids, the science does not agree with you.

When I did a bit of research I didn’t find those references and you do realize that individual districts can be red in a blue state right? Often the bans are simple complaints by parents and then the board votes so you have to look at board members.

Oh no he experienced racism at the school but having a prestigious private school on your resume is a leg up and still connects you to others you otherwise wouldn’t have been even close to. I said beat not just a simple basic physical discipline. I worry for kids in your care if you equate the two

Removing access to books for kids in school and public libraries is banning books for people who don’t have access to books in other ways. Which surprise they exist! You might not be one of them so congrats. No specific party has banned it recently are you speaking of in the past?

He went to a private seminary to go into ministry but ultimately went another direction he was only able to transfer to Yale because of his attendance at the seminary. Yes he got good grades but he was also beat so yea I’d avoid poor grades if they got me bruises as well.

Yes he beat his grandson quite regularly according to what I was reading. And yes access to a good private school even if the only black student would give you a leg above many.
July 4, 2025 at 2:57 AM
I know you haven’t read any history books you don’t have to remind everyone, you can just not respond.
July 4, 2025 at 2:50 AM
Did you stop at his dad leaving. He was primarily raised by his grandfather. He was also the first black man to go to his private school that his well known grandfather got him into. That is a step up that many can’t achieve.

You think the meaning of Fahrenheit 451 was to not rely on the gov for help with healthcare? Sure not relying on them for information when they destroy it and control the media, but that’s far more like the gov now. The party that burns and bans books is the head of the gov these days.
July 4, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Oh man that gave me a giggle. That’s a good one. Man if you truly believe that you don’t fully realize that there are more people outside of further outside your view of the world. You had the opportunity and access to make good choices, not everyone even has that and that’s the point.
July 4, 2025 at 2:31 AM
No, I have read history books beyond the high school level written by historians and people who were there when it happened. I get this can be hard since reading isn’t for everyone. I’d start with Fahrenheit 451. It’s not even history but fiction is great place if you’re not interested in history

your experience is not the experience of everyone! Likely it’s not even the experience of the majority of the people who live in this country. It’s important to learn that we are not the center of the universe. It’s time to be adults & realize things exist outside of our existence & thats not bad

These benefits are what got us out of the Great Depression that was started by oligarchic monopolies that ruled over this country during the 20s. Without benefits people will die. Already in this country lack of access to healthcare is a huge cause of death. But sure cheer on the deaths. Very MAGA
July 4, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Where are workers supposed to go? That’s so unrealistic it would cause death before Walmart would ever pay their employees more or give benefits. Because we need jobs to survive in this country and there wouldn’t be enough jobs to fill the need.
July 4, 2025 at 2:02 AM
It is to qualify for certain benefits if you make too much even a penny over you lose benefits. Did the penny actually help that much no but it doesn’t matter. If you can’t get a full time job with benefits but to qualify for gov help you have to work less than part time you can’t even get a sec job
July 4, 2025 at 1:59 AM
Exactly! That and most corporations are the real welfare queens. A large portion of Walmarts full time employees also need gov assistance to survive. Which means Walmart relies on the gov to subsidize its employees incomes so it can maintain higher profits.
