Readers will often skip prologues and ephemera (journal entries, song lyrics, footnotes)
They’ll also sometimes skip epilogues, denouements, and scenes they think don’t matter (intimacy, fights, chases)
And some just skip entire POVs and chapters
Edit accordingly, I guess #writingtips

I have been saying for years that Gen z kids are amazing but as they stop being kids and start saying things like “Cal [in Titanic] was the right choice” I am ready to take it all back

Irrational pet peeve: “it’s only two ingredients!!!”
Ma’am. Just in the recipe preview I can count five ingredients, none of which are salt/water/oil (always excluded for some stupid effing reason) and at least one of which is specialty
