Hi Australian researchers, is there anyone out there doing national (or not) cat or fox genetic research that wants/needs samples? It is a question I get a lot. I know of some past projects, but not sure about what is happening now. Keen to connect samples with researchers and info back to managers.

Ag Vic will send a survey to holders of Ag. Chem. Users Permits early in 2024 to get insights into use of 1080 & alternate control methods in Vic. I would encourage people to complete the survey as 1080 is the thin green line protecting our wildlife and livestock from invasive pests such as foxes.

It’s difficult to manage what you can’t identify, & so it is with weeds! 🌱
WeedScan - a free mobile & web identification & management app - has been created to overcome this barrier.
Download the app or use the WeedScan tool via the Centre for Invasive Species website weedscan.org.au

Fun morning playing cat chasies with primary students. Talked about impacts of cats, the importance of habitat, including gardens, & keeping cats safe at home. This nature play area used to be grass until the kids decided they wanted a nice place to be in & habitat. I was part of that 5 yes ago.

Lou Steering talking at NSW Vert Pest Mgmt Conference about impacts of foxes on Bell’s Turtle & success of electric fencing in protecting nests! Just 1 fox can dig up & eat all eggs in a nesting season 😳🥹 meaning traditional fox control programs don’t work on their own for freshwater turtles. Baby🐢😍
