It's entirely conceivable that this dude, known only through 7th century BCE Assyrian administrative tablet, would have bore witness to rise & fall of the Neo-Assyrian Empire under Ashurbanipal; founding of Byzantium; Nebuchadnezzar building the Hanging Gardens of Babylon & rise of classical Greece.

I don't know a single Black economist who doesn't cite widely and source inspiration from history, sociology, gender studies, Black studies, psychology, or a combination of all them.

Stop saying all [fill in field experts] are the same when a search on #bluesky would disprove that in two seconds.

3 specimens of Culiseta annulata caught; 2 females & 1 male.

The species is cold-resistant & can survive Icelandic conditions by sheltering through winter in basements & barns.

Iceland is warming, at 4x the rate of the rest of the northern hemisphere.

This revenge working group apparently targets mainly members of Trump's own prior administration. Trump once shared a podium with Anthony Fauci and boasted about his ratings; now Fauci is an enemy. The current working group members probably are its future targets.

*This* is our grid on renewable power

~$1.50 per MWh
98% renewable

Its only when we throw in fossil fuels it gets expensive

The energy cartel keep fossil fuels in the mix on purpose

This is a *political* problem and one we could solve easily

'The Diplomat' works great as fiction, as the 'embassy diplomacy' shown in the show is just plain wrong from start to finish. That's not how diplomacy and embassies work. Unless American embassies actually functions that way, which could explain the state of the world. it's entertaining though.
The Diplomat is very much my thing. You watch an episode and you really want to know what is going to happen in the next one; therefore, you keep watching. This is an interesting approach and I believe more television shows should try it.

This is your reminder to be VERY patient with your libraries as they deal with the loss of what might be their primary vendor.

It’s a hot mess.

Many libraries are nearing the end of their contracts with vendors and have to go out to bid.

But the 2 remaining vendors are swamped.

The real banger in this is the coinage of the term "epistemia," for something that has the surface appearance of knowledgeability & plausibility but no actual verification or expertise. Gonna get a lot of use, connecting the dots between bullshit, technochauvinism, & epistemic/hermeneutic injustice.
We. Told. You. So. But also, that "May Rely" in the significance section ( 👇🏾 ) is *way* too… let's go with "generous;" lexical associations and statistical priors are what these systems are literally made of, and all that they do. Literally. doi.org/10.1073/pnas...

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.
