To those complaining about this feature, it is a setting that you have to enable on your dashboard.

You are not forced to participate and it defaults to "off".

In gamedev, placeholder assets are supposed to look ugly and obvious, so you remember to implement the real asset. Something like a checkerboard.

IMO, they 1000% did not intend for that texture to be a "placeholder."

I posted an announcement in my Discord. I know most folks don't constantly check eachothers' discord servers, so here is my skeet about it.

Hey all! I've had a good few days off and am ready to return to streams. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all for Pokémon Odyssey tonight, D&D tomorrow and 7 Days to Die on Friday. For the near future you can expect fewer scheduled streams. I've been doing some introspection and I feel like I have lost my way a bit with content creation. Here is a summary of my thoughts from the past couple months: I started making YouTube videos of Among Us games back in November of 2020 and then started streaming the lobbies in February of 2021 simply because I was running OBS for recording anyway and I may as well hit the 'Start Stream' button too. Over time I have transitioned from 'streaming to make content' to 'streaming for the sake of streaming' and I feel like I kind of lost the plot. Hilariously, Satisfactory is a symptom of this. I love Satisfactory and I really enjoy playing it but ultimately I'm streaming it because I have a schedule to keep, it's a game I can play for days, weeks, months, and it does fairly well numbers for my size of channel. (When I do play other things my CCV does generally tank) But... I can't really make content around Satisfactory. I won't have the most efficient builds and I dont have the prettiest factories. I don't have the chaotic chaos or the most organized train network. My point is, I don't have a niche within the game community to make videos about. That's not inherently a bad thing but it's not what I set out to do when I started streaming. It's not what I want to make. I've been doing a lot of editing work over the past couple months on some projects that have yet to be released and I've really been enjoying the process. I can't say when they'll be released as schedules have never been my strong suit but I hope you can see them soon. But it has definitely reminded me of why I started streaming and what I really enjoy about it. I'm not going anywhere. This isnt a "I'm quitting" announcement or anything like that but it is me sharing my thoughts on where I'm at and the track this train will be returning to soon. I'm going to keep working on these videos and streams going forward will most likely be less days each week, followed by more adventures through new games or games I have video ideas around. I will finish Satisfactory but after that I will be taking a break from it for this reason. Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings in the Discord. I'm open to your feedback. TL;DR: Expect less streams in general and more focused content based streams. Also expect my CCV to tank lol

If people didn't eat up TotK's $70 price tag, I bet we wouldn't have an $80 price tag on Mario Kart.
