Finally saw Metropolis 1927 and I can't get this idea out of my head about how there needs to be an Egger's Nosferatu style remake that combines the stories of the original and the 2001 Anime film. I think Metropolis needed a Kenichi type character and Freder should've been an unrepentant fascist.

It's weird to realize Sony never backed a dominant media format (outside of Japan). Blu-Rays never replaced DVD market share, and by the time the format was making gains, digital took over. Even consoles didn't make much of a dent in the mass adoption of Blu-Ray.
