Our first Invited Speaker to present at GIA2025 is Dr. Jason Plemel (@jrplemel.bsky.social), a Canada Research Chair in Glial Neuroimmunology and Associate Professor in the UofA Department of Medicine Neurology Division. Dr. Plemel will talk on Microglia and glycome alterations during demyelination.

Our next Keynote Speaker for Day 2 of GIA2025 is Dr. @salomepinho.bsky.social . She is coming from the University of Porto, Portugal to talk about glycans as master regulators of immune response in inflammation, autoimmunity and cancer: from disease prediction to therapeutic opportunities.

Our next Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Simon Wisnovsky from UBC who will be talking on mapping the genomic landscape of cancer glycome remodeling with genome-wide CRISPR. His work is consistently recognized with many awards and we are very excited to have him at GIA2025. @wisnovskylab.bsky.social
