Looking at the World Cup draw now the trade off seems starker regarding exciting opportunities for minnows but no real high stakes clashes between high ranking regulars early on and the latter is surely just as important.

Wrapping up my use of Spotify any month now but as it has gamed my most plays this year, due to auto-play setting left on, these are them (via Last FM), inevitably led by late '24/early '25 stuff.

My 50 Honourable Mentions for the #TheTwen2ie5. Liked the idea of choosing only tracks mentioned in others main lists but couldn't this time. These are based on most plays via Last.fm and as usual for me a few instrumentals (in italic) and remixes (tho unlikely to catch others ears much) do well.

35 years ago in November 1990, PSB released “Being boring” as the 2nd single from their 4th studio album, “Behaviour”. The song was inspired by a party invitation from Neil’s Newcastle days which quoted Zelda Fitzgerald’s line “She was never bored, mainly because she was never boring”.

I've reached the first big concept episode of Moonlighting (with Orson Welles intro and the 40s 'Blue Moon' black and white scenes which I do remember seeing at the time). The second earliest ep I remember after the train one.

Incredibly annoying disappearance of dozens of not-yet-uploaded photos on my phone after latest Samsung OS update. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this? Very specific to only photos on the camera that I hadn't yet added to Flickr.

Did 'Josephine' by Chris Rea at karaoke earlier as I had a frog in my throat :) pleasantly surprised to see it on the list although it wasn't La Version Francaise that I could tell but a faster, less good rendering.

Got to say the '1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything' series on Apple is v enjoyable, interesting and inspiring, esp. the Funk and Soul focus episodes. Love all the footage of these paragons in their prime.

Had a delightful evening with a couple of friends in Sutton Arms, one of my favourite Central London pubs. Maybe the place being half empty both at 5.30 and at 9.30 was a factor too..
