Portlander, lazy writer. Horror lit fan, obsessive reader and movie watcher.
The one I really enjoy way more now is the lesser seen Graveyard Shift.

I fondly look back on the days of 70s action cinema where there seemed to be an entire subgenre of dudes fighting in random locations for money (HARD TIMES with Charles Bronson, and the Clint Eastwood series with the orangutan.)

Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry. I read it every few years. I love the title character’s quiet life and his inner journey.

Would be funny if people started saying it for positive, heartwarming news.

I’m a Lightfoot evangelist—his best known songs are wonderful, but there’s so much more out there.

I don’t tune in to Youtube as much as I once did, but can heartily recommend Oddity Archive.

The Cash episode is one of my favorites. I love the ones with really convoluted murders.

And it’s slightly before my time, but the heel turn by Ole Anderson where he spent a year “pretending” to be a babyface in order to gain the trust of his longtime foe Dusty Rhodes, only to stab him in the back. The interviews from that are on Youtube and are a must-watch.

I struggle with longer novels but when I do find one that I can lose myself in, it’s magical.

Yinz in particular has interested me because it’s similar to “you’uns” which I heard a lot growing up near the Arkansas border (at the edge of the Ozarks.)

Mine pops back up when I’ve been around my family or have just talked to them on the phone.

Man I hated Nick Nolte’s accent in Lorenzo’s Oil…

Jeff Bridges in Blown Away was pretty bad too, his “accent” seemed to just be slurring his speech.
