It is important to not wish physical harm on anyone who says the destruction of teenage girls’ lives is no big deal; in a civil society someone should be able to say teenage girls’ lives are meaningless without facing any negative repercussions, including mentions of woodchippers

Again: dumbest timeline.
A convicted felon who had also been found liable for sexual assault and committed additional crimes in plain sight was close with a notorious child sex trafficker and likely participated in some of those crimes too got elected with much of that known and spent his presidency railing against “crime.”

Dems aren’t the owner of that decision, though. The GOP is fighting a court order to fund SNAP. The GOP can kill the filibuster and reopen the gov’t without a single Dem vote. The GOP wants to take away healthcare, and is willing to starve people to do it. The GOP owns this, entirely. Not the Dems!
I think one thing we lose sight of is that it’s really easy to chant that we gotta touch the stove, and it’s a completely different thing to be the owner of the ongoing decision that 40 million people gotta go hungry. That’s a heavy thing and I’m not at all surprised that some Dems are worried.
