Playing #Fallout4 on #SteamDeck and have an observation. The shadows aren't screen space because they persist when an object is well outside your viewport, including characters and other non static objects. Also, the sun in #Fallout 4 moves in discrete steps instead of gradually.

Playing some #Fallout4 on #SteamDeck and two obserations about a recent update.

1) Having the "SteamDeck=0 %command%" launch argument seems to break the game's ability to launch now.

So, using systemd-analyze, I was able to add several options to my service files for Minecraft and Luanti to lock them down considerably without breaking their core functionality. I may poke around some more and then use this as a template for the future.

My yearly viewing of #VForVendetta feels oddly more appropriate on this #November5th.

Not my first time apparently.

My wife and I were playing #VampireSurvivors together and something flaked with the network play and she got kicked and it gave me all of her items, so I ended up way more powerful than I should have been. I'm curious though, I bet Death can be killed, there are items past him on the map.

It's addicting, but no matter how good you think you're doing, you WILL die eventually.

#VampireSurvivors is on sale on Steam so I decided to give it a shot. It's actually pretty fun. It starts getting "really" difficult around the 10 minute mark.

#Jellyfin has released 10.11.1 with some bug fixes. If you're using the #Debian repo like I am, it should be available to install.

#Nextcloud 32.0.1 is available according to my server. The changelog hasn't been posted yet, but the update is available, at least if you're using the manual tarball version with your own database/webserver setup like I am. I'm not sure about the availability of the snap or docker versions.

Brainstorming ways to minimize manual work keeping my custom systemd services inside their chroot jails even thru package upgrades that might overwrite the systemd service file. Turns out #Jellyfin has a config file that allows you to modify the default systemd service file directives.

I installed #Comet browser in a VM to see if it could be easily identified, so that admins who are so inclined could block it to prevent its integrated #AI from potentially scraping their pages despite using tools like Anubis. Its user agent contains no unique identifying information...

Kinda cool to see my personal server using a hybrid post #quantum key exchange for its https connections when even US government sites aren't yet.

The #Bluesky app needs work. It regularly signs me out about once a week. I literally got a notification, clicked it and got this. Guess I'll just stick to using it in my browser.

Turned the #Minecraft Java edition creative server back on because my nephew and kids have really gotten back into building in Minecraft and they wanted a shared space they could access from anywhere regardless of where they'e at.

Adding another one of my random little personal #Python projects to Gitlab. I haven't updated it in a while so I'm looking over a few things, putting it up on Gitlab, making sure the build script works properly, etc. I'll post links to everything later.

The portal mechanic I mentioned in #SonicRacingCrossworlds. I don't "think" it's keeping multiple maps in memory because there's a slight frame drop (from 60 to 55 or so then back) for just a split second when a track is chosen. So yeah, don't install this game to an SD card or HDD.
