Make it work. Keep improving.
B-roll. Adding chapters. Subtitles. Audio mastering. Colour grading... still working on this one - too warm!

All the above make good content, great. If something is meant to be watched and enjoyed for a long time, it's worth the effort. This is what hours of editing spread over weeks looks like:

The first edit pass is always the hardest.

It requires technical knowledge to understand which parts distract from the story, and which ones are good nerd humour.

After the recording, this is the second most important part which cannot be delegated. I tried & learned: makeitwork.tv/about/#the-h...

Same time. Same place. We continue where we left off.

The conversation flows, it becomes a screen share, and when the time is up none wants to stop. 90mins become 150 mins and we are running out of tape.

We export the raw content into DaVinci Resolve Studio and we begin smoothing the story:

Today is the day when we open up Riverside and simply focus on the conversation.

Everyone is relaxed and excited to talk about the main thing. Cameras get adjusted. Microphones come closer. Before we know it, we are done - this is just the rehearsal.

We cannot wait for tomorrow, recording day!

How this was made.

The conversation has to be easy going, entertaining and educational.

It must leave room for the unexpected (no scripting), and it also needs to hit most of the main points. Never lose the audience!

It all starts with the people that are passionate & deeply invested in a topic.

We book a rehearsal + a recording session a few months in advance. This gives us time to prepare.

The core idea is setting the context, having most of the pieces in place, then figuring it out together, as we record.

The best guests are able to focus on the conversation regardless 😀

We'll do another one with less noise, promise 🤜🤛
