The #handsoff protest in Portland, OR is HUGE! People filled Waterfront park between the Steel and Burnside bridges and beyond. Naito Parkway closed to traffic by the police so we could spread out. Still folks streaming in from side streets!

It feels weird to be celebrating St Patrick’s Day given the $h!t show here in the US, but I gotta keep sane somehow. If you’re in the Portland, OR area, here’s some upcoming public performances. I play the music for my Irish dancers (that’s me playing Whistle in the short video.)

Made hummus today after soaking the dry garbanzos overnight. Have a batch of plain garlic (with lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, corse salt, black pepper and cumin) and another I added chipotle peppers in adobo sauce for a bit of heat.
Pita bread is next.

Celebrating St Bridget’s Day tomorrow at TC O’Leary’s with Irish tunes 7-9 pm, make your own Bridget’s cross (4pm on) and Solas Bhride (the perpetual flame of St Bridget from Kildare, Ireland) as a beacon of hope, justice and peace for Ireland and our world.
Hope to see you there Portland OR!

Tonight, Tuesday’s femme Irish music Seisiun at T.C. O’Leary’s pub in Portland, Oregon. (The Irish Gin and Tonic is also entertaining, it has eyes and shifting facial features with every sip 🤣)
Great tunes and people! 8-10 pm

That time of year for sweet and spicy roasted filberts, or as they call them here in Oregon (since 1981 😏) hazelnuts.
