There were two countries where Japan did make an impact: Dutch television music program Toppop showed a clip of Japan on January 25, 1979 & Adolescent Sex was a modest hit there. Early 1979, the band went Japan for the first & sold out the famous Budokan stadium in Tokyo 3 times in a row!

They introduced the mohawk to mass American culture, fused punk & metal when these groups despised each other & produced stage shows which included the chainsawing of guitars and the blowing up of full size cars & have yet to be equalled today.
Way more than a rock band.
