“The Beautiful Ones” musical number in “Purple Rain” is one of my favorite sequences in any movie.

Watching it in Dolby Cinema was a beautiful experience.

One of my favorites. Criminally underrated and also, I just realized it’s an official remake of All About Eve

Took a little while, but finally finished migration. Deleted all tweets/replies/likes (after moving most of them here), unfollowed all & protected the account. I'll login occasionally to keep the handle and post the odd link to Bluesky to keep it from going dormant. Later, X. #bye

Next time you have an idea that seems too crazy, just remember that John Woo once walked into an office and said "I wanna make a movie where Nick Cage plays John Travolta playing Nick Cage, and John Travolta plays Nick Cage playing John Travolta," and someone wrote him a check for 80 million dollars

Sharon Stone is on another level in this one. People villainize her character but I think she’s a tragic figure. She’s trapped in this marriage and she doesn’t have a lot of options in the cutthroat world of pimps and hustlers in Vegas. I feel sorry for her more than anything.

Saw it for the first time in 15 years. Completely deranged, hypnotic, and visceral.

It feels like a dream or like I’m watching someone’s memories.
