An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Congratulations @6figga-dilla.bsky.social on your Emmy win! You've earned it. Love your work and everything dope about America comes from Chicago including you
NEW — Chicago’s favorite historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas stopped by The TRiiBE Studio with some new gold: his 2025 Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award.

“I cried later, yeah, but I’m like, ‘don’t cry on the stage,’” Dilla said. “I was literally at a loss for words.”

During a military-style raid on a building in Chicago’s South Shore, one resident heard a knock on his door.

It wasn’t the feds —  it was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for help.

He let them hide in his unit for the next 3 days.

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

The Oxford comma (also known as the ‘serial comma’) is the comma that separates the second to last item in a list from a final item that is introduced by ‘and’ or ‘or.’

It is optional...but be aware that not using the serial comma can result in some ambiguity.

This framing is beneath contempt. The Christian right and MAGA launched an unprecedented assault on the civil rights of a tiny minority and successfully weaponized the pseudoliberal establishment - led by the NYT - to provide it with a medical controversy pretext that doesn’t actually exist.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we still have to go.

It marks the moment freedom finally reached our people right here in Texas. Our people took what was withheld and built something powerful: resilience, pride, and a legacy we carry to this day. (1/2)
