She is absolutely right.
Come spring the US and Russia will be doing ‘military practicing’ with their little boats and troops up at the northwest passage. Then they will set up shop and start the ‘annexing’
Canada must be proactive.

Just returned from a BC Liquor store. The manager is an acquaintance who told me extra staff to be brought in to pack up and store US products tomorrow if tariffs come into effect.
Not one customer seemed upset. Actually, there were a few 'good for you' comments.

In March last year, a group of farmers turned to the Swiss courts to force the government to do more to act on climate change before their farms become unviable.

A country where average temperature increases have already hit 2.8 °C compared with preindustrial times.

It's good that there's a 25% tarriff on imported coffee now. This will incentivize people to purchase American coffee, grown in the New Jersey coffee forests

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.

Good trade.

If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via study that still underestimates climate cost.

This isn’t about choice. It’s about who pays for your choice.

Yes. Let's do this.
There’s a very credible fiscal policy case to be made for “paying” (which can happen through many kinds of mechanisms) people to bike to work. Investing in safe bike infrastructure and providing financial incentives to ride rather than drive saves and makes public money. HT @momentummag.bsky.social
Here is Why Governments Paying People to Bike to Work Makes Sense
All that is required to make a massive modal shift is safe cycling infrastructure and an incentive, why not paying people to bike to work?
