A great album, much better than the debut, it’s stood the test of time.

Great single. They were incredibly prolific and inventive over 18 months. Great band.

Bullshit, George. If Farage wins, it’s down to 50 years of neo-liberal economics, a press media that has become increasingly partisan and now rabidly crazed, which has resulted in an electorate that is ripe for fascism. If you want blame, look at the Labour Party of 80-83 which was unelectable

Thanks for pointing out that I’ve been conditioned.

If this is a genuine alternative then heaven help us. Corbyn and his Stalinist goons have had their chance but flunked it. Corbyn amply demonstrated that he was a third-rate leader.

Their best - 2 minutes of perfection b/w one of the great ‘B-sides’.

2/2. Depressingly, it convinced me that Reform will win next GE. This guy was a successful, articulate tradesperson but it he was parroting the Britain is Lawless line and couldn’t recognise fundamental problems other than migration.

A bloke did a job for us today. Conversation got to immigration and despite me pointing out that whilst irregular migration is a problem, underinvestment in our national infrastructure and our poor productivity and low-skill economy are much bigger problems, he wasn’t having it. 1/2

What a lovely thing! Windsor Davies hamming it up like a good ‘un. Thank you for sharing.

That’s a shame. Across the four books, Updike depicted a strata of society, warts and all. Harry Angstrom would be MAGA - and reading some of the other responses to your post, you can see why millions of people rejected being condescended to and why you’ve got the POTUS that you’ve got.

This tragedy is often overlooked - this is an excellent article. Thank you.

Couldn’t agree more. At the time of that programme I was 10 but even so you felt connected to other parts of the nation watching it.

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed Nationwide, it left a big gap in programming and it was never replaced successfully.

Maybe I’ve answered the question why there are negative briefings about her!

She’s struck me as being a future PM.
