Ppl criticized Bush for taking 5 days to visit NO after Katrina. Biden never visited us at all. Trump did. He looked at the ruins in the Palisades and commented on how expensive the houses had been. But no visit to Altadena, a historically Black suburb. And then he said he was shutting FEMA.

Ppl criticized Bush for taking 5 days to visit NO after Katrina. Biden never visited us at all. Trump did. He looked at the ruins in the Palisades and commented on how expensive the houses had been. But no visit to Altadena, a historically Black suburb. And then he said he was shutting FEMA.
The Hazmat crews have started the cleanup her in Altadena. Estimate is 1.5 years before folks will be able to move back in to the houses that are still standing. Nat. Guard presence is strong. And Edison is now claiming that homeless people caused the fire. The buck always stops at homeless people.

Lots of questions need answering. Why did we get evacuated at 7pm but a mile away got evacuated at 3:30am, when the neighborhood was already burning?
Why are the National Guard protecting mansions on my dime, but not mid. class areas? Why BIPOC residents racially profiled as suspected looters?

This is my neighborhood, Altadena. We're back at home now. We live near where the fire started but the catastrophic winds were blowing in all the "wrong" directions and so the fire went all around us.
Most of Altadena was not so lucky.
